We finally got some proper snow early this morning and everything looked lovely for a while, though it's already raining and washing it away. Lottie thought it was fun for a while, but didn't want to hang around in the cold!
It took me a while to decide how to cut up the fabric for the latest quilt, but I've gone with a very simple square and 4 patch layout. Think it's going to look nice and summery and scrappy. Not sure when I'll get it finished as my sewing machine keeps playing up again and snapping the top thread.
I chain pieced the squares together, then joined the pairs until I got fed up with the machine. Looks like I'll need to take it in for fixing again. :(
Bye for now

How pretty your garden looks in the sprinkling of snow! Lottie looks smart in her camel coat!
ReplyDeleteSnow expected here this week!
Oh it all looks so pretty, as does Lottie in her coat.
ReplyDeleteWe've only had a couple of flakes here and now the sun is shining.
It looks very pretty with the snow & Lottie looks very warm in her coat.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't Lottie look stylish in her winter coat! Love how the snow makes everything so, so pretty. It's rainy/sleety here now too, and turning our street very slushy. Hope you get your machine sorted soon, your quilt is looking lovely.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday

The snow passed us by this time - thankfully! Your garden does look lovely covered in snow, though. I love the look of your quilt. I hope your sewing machine doesn't take too long to repair - or cost too much!
ReplyDeleteJust back from walking our dog. The lane is clear of snow up here, but the fields still have a cover. It is so nice not to have rain :) I love the look of your quilt - hope your machine is soon fixed.

ReplyDeleteSome lovely snowy pictures, a little bit of snow makes the garden sparkle, we had some in Huddersfield last night but not much and it won't last long. I didn't have chance to take any pictures.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and magical!! Love your sweet quilt!! Have a lovely week! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of snow. Your pictures are beautiful though!!
ReplyDeleteI have a quilt with the exact pattern that my Grandmother made in the 50's or 60's. Not floral print but just about the same hues. Yours is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks so magical in the snow!

Snow does make everything look good doesn't it - it hides the weeds and highlights the good points. Poor Lottie doesn't look very happy even though she has a smart coat to keep her warm.
ReplyDeleteYour dog is so cute! :) Happy snowing!!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks so beautiful in the snow and I love the quilt. My sewing machine was doing a similar thing in the middle of a project recently. I managed to unravel a whole load of thread of different colours that had become wrapped up in the mechanism inside.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so beautiful covered in snow.
ReplyDeleteglad to see Lottie has her coat on wondered if you made it for her
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't got the patience for things like that! Bought it a few years ago online.
Deletebellissimo il tuo giardino con la neve, interessante il tuo blog, ciao
ReplyDeleteLottie looks so warm elegant in her coat - just the job for this weather.
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks wonderful in the snow - I am so envious of your beautifully laid out vegetable garden/potager - how wonderful to have that much space!
Hope you havent had too much snow - I know you've had some more in Hampshire as my hubby is currently working near Havant and Petersfield and had to stay overnight.
Keep cosy, am loving your latest quilt by the way. Hope you gte your maching sorted, its so frustrating when you just want to get on.
I love your garden! Looks like a lot of hard work but even in the winter with snow it's beautiful! I like your quilt and isn't it nice to do a simple pattern for a change that doesn't cause stress? Thanks for sharing
