Spring Decorating

Hello, I hope all you Mums out there had a lovely day on Sunday.  My Eldest sent a beautiful bunch of freesias and tulips which smell gorgeous and add a much needed sunny glow to the place!   Younger daughter made me a pretty tulip picture.  Not her usual style, but she knows what I like :)

Although it was still bitterly cold yesterday, the sun shone and it felt like a good time to re-arrange the mantelpiece for spring.  A bit OTT?  Yes, probably, but it makes me smile!
I did something similar last year on 23rd Feb and my Anemones had been flowering for a while.  This year they're only just in bud, which shows how cold it's been :(

Bye for now

  33. Hi Debbie, I seriously love your blog, I mean L-O-V-E it. Everything you make is just beautiful and really scrummy. I love your blankets and your colour choices make me swoon. I hope you don't mind me asking here but I have been torturing myself all day long (in between feeding my 5wk old!!) trying to work out how you made the hexagons in your cath kidston inspired hexagon blanket. My head is wrecked, I think I made a little progress and then it looks all wrong, 1 step forward and 10 steps back. This is the first project I thought I would start since the birth of my second little boy and now I'm thinking I've bitten off more than I can chew. I'd love it if you could help me and I hope you don't mind me asking you and being slightly off topic.

    Thank you

    Helen xx

    1. Many thanks for your comments, I'm glad you like the blanket. The pattern came from the book "crocheted afghans" by Melody Griffiths. Each round is slightly different, but is made up of clusters of trebles or dtrs where the last loop of each stitch is left on the hook, before pulling the wool through all the loops. Hope that helps a bit. Debbie.

  34. Hello Debbie

Oh how wonderful to stumble upon your blog. It is delightful. Your decorations are just gorgeous. Looked at a previous post where you show your spring cleaned green house - I'm very impressed! I leaned mine out at the weekend but it is not as tidy as yours. Love the crocheted bunting. I love crocheting too - it is so relaxing. Tulips - my favourite flowers!

Thanking you for sharing - you have brightened my day.

    Take care
