This Week

Hello.  Here's a few things that have been making me smile this week.
First of all, this beautiful rainbow which appeared to end in the field nearby.

Next, the apple tree that's been absolutely smothered in blossom this year.  I must have taken dozens of photos, it's just so pretty when the sun's shining.  Sadly it's starting to blow round the garden like confetti now.

more bluebells

And finally, some lovely flowers and gifts for my birthday.

I was going to say something about feeling my age and how I wasn't looking forward to being 50 but the  awful news from Oklahoma makes that all seem irrelevant.  Thinking of you in America and hoping you're safe.

  2. Beautiful pictures! Thank you for sharing.

I've been 50 now for about 6 months and I'm loving it!! I wasn't sure how I'd feel but truthfully, I'm so happy to have made it this far, in pretty good health, with my family intact and my career thriving. I don't feel old and have a lot of fun when someone doesn't believe I'm 50. Have fun with it!!

  5. Gosh, when I see your rainbow, and hear of the destruction in America, nature is so powerful, both good and bad. My thoughts are with them too xxx

  8. Happy Birthday to you. Yes it is so devastating to see what has happened in Oklahoma, but life does continue even when it is sad.
    Hugs to you,

  11. I had a birthday last week and it surprises me how many bloggers I visit have a birthday at a similar time! Wish I was 50 again - no maybe I don't as I would still be working!!

An apple tree is just as lovely as any ornamental tree - I've been in raptures over our quince blossom for a few days now but unfortunately as it is on the plot I don't get to enjoy it every day.

  13. Congratulations on your 50th birthday - only a few months behind me hope you had a good time. We have had so much blossom this year too so hopefully there will be a good crop of apples. Nature gives us such contrasts the rainbow is so beautiful and the tragedy in Oklahoma so awful.
