Friday Flowers

Hello, I hope you're all well and enjoying the tennis. It doesn't really feel like Pimms weather today but here's some flowers to brighten your day!  The gorgeous pink peonies didn't flower last year due to the awful wet weather, so it was lovely to see them again.

The greenhouse is filling up with flowers at last and I'm loving pottering around in there moving plants around and potting things on.  The fuchsias aren't growing very quickly, but the few that I trained into mini standards are flowering well.   The streptocarpus are slow too, but some are flowering.

The chives in the garden seem to be alive with bees from nearby hives on sunny days.  I wonder if the honey will taste "oniony" !

And here's Lottie trying to find her toys which seem to have all gone missing in the wild area.

Hope you have a good weekend.

  1. The chive flowers look much pinkier than ours. As for streptocarpus ours are in the house we don't tend to grow flowers in the greenhouse yours looks lovely though.

  6. I love your greenhouse plants. We used to have lots of plants in the greenhouse but since we do not heat the greenhouse anymore it is reduced to only a few houseplants and further tomatoes and paprikas.
Lottie looks so cute and as I read he takes his toys to the garden too, like Snarf.

    1. Hi, thank you. These ones were taken with my Nikon DSLR - D70S, and the 60mm macro lens. It's a good lens for getting very close to things like flowers etc. I tend to use just this or the 50mm one which is lighter to handle. When I'm out I take my Nikon coolpix s550 which I love as it's purple! :) xx

    1. I can't remember, I'm afraid. We planted it years ago. The first flowers are often single, but then there's lots of doubles. They seem to like our chalky soil. xx

  18. Wow, your flowers are beautiful! And so many gorgeous blooms in your greenhouse, they look lovely. You must give them a lot of time and care to get them like that.

  23. Oh I am just so happy to see your beautiful pictures!! I really have garden envy, as I have not been able to garden much this year on top of being in a drought. I am really missing as many pretty flowers in my yard this year.

  28. What a perfect greenhouse! And that looks like a great garden for a whippet. Our lot have to make do with our little courtyard garden, but to compensate them there is a field over the road for them to run in.

  34. I love your photos and your flowers are so beautiful, I can almost smell them! The weather in Reykjavik has been bad all summer, only about 5 or 6 real sunny days, the rest has been really cold (even for Iceland) and wet :/
Enjoy the summer and show us more sunny flowering pictures :)
