Star Quilt Progress

Hello!  The star quilt is coming along nicely.  I've done about a third of the blocks now and am really happy with how they're turning out.  Some seem to "work" better, I think if the points contrast strongly with the background so I've shuffled the rest of the fabric bits around a bit before I carry on.  It wasn't meant to be a Christmas quilt, but seems to have a festive feel with lots of reds and greens, Like a box of decorations!

Talking of which, I had a bit of a house tidy yesterday and have decided it's time to jolly up the mantelpieces as it's nearly December.  Off in search of the Christmas stuff.
Hope you have a good weekend.

  8. Are you using the fabrics that you weren't too keen on? The quilt is lovely, really bright and cheery, I really must start another quilt - if only I had more time..... look forward to seeing more of your quilt. Happy Stitching.

  9. Gosh that looks really striking and seeing how you've laid out the cut fabrics all together like that makes such good sense, but Id never have thought to do it myself - duhhh
It off course means you can easily plan which fabrics to use ahead of time, instead of my scrappy box and endless delving in to see what goes with which lol

  12. I've popped into your blog a couple of times, but never commented. I really enjoy your crafts and garden and may put it on my sidebar as then I'll be able to see when you post and look more often.
The scrap star quilt is lovely and definitely one I should do to use up my scraps. Take care.
