The Vyne

I popped along to The Vyne last week for a wander round the gardens and when looking through the photos I realised that most of them were similar to the ones from my June 2013 visit Here and Here!
The walled garden looked rather different this time, with masses of dahlias filling lots of the beds and a rather drunk looking scarecrow.

This border caught my eye with it's colour themed sections.  Purples and pinks at one end and the hot colours at the other, to match the bricks of the summerhouse.

Lots of bold colour but softer shades too

I've joined the National Trust this year, so no excuses for not getting out and about more!

  1. Nice garden to visit especially the walled garden with the dahlias and the funny scarecrow is pretty at this time of year.

  2. That dome roofed building is amazing. Not somewhere I've been, but a good dahlia always seduces me!

    1. Amazing to think it's been there nearly 400 years. There are a couple of similar gatehouses but I think they were 19th century copies.

  4. What a lovely garden and this time of year would be lovely with all the dahlias out. The scarecrow has definitely seen better days(giggle). Take care.

  8. I can see why you keep returning here- what a glorious place! I love a bricked wall in a garden. I keep telling hubby we should tear out our wooden fence and replace it with brick. He just rolls his eyes and moves on.. :)

  14. We are National Trust members and love to go and visit these beautiful gardens. Wish we could go to more. I love dahlias and ours did very well this year in spite of the awful summer weather.

  17. Dear Debbie, aaaah, another of these gorgeous English properties and gardens! I have never heard of this one before, so thank you very much for taking us on a tour. Love the dahlias and the herbaceous borders. Can't help but think again, that the British are simply masters of this kind of the latter!
    Warm regards,
    Christina
